Aloha Fido, Waylon Brun
February 2014 Our ohana (family) will forever be grateful to the canine behavioral services of Waylon Brun. We own a 4 year old female German shepherd (Nohea), who we believed was dog aggressive (bark aggressively and lunge at other dogs and very protective of her personal space). We are a very active family who enjoys the outdoors and being that Nohea was “dog aggressive” we had no choice but to leave her behind. After a few days with Waylon, he discovered that Nohea was not dog aggressive but a very anxious dog (constant whining and very insecure around other dogs). With two weeks at Aloha Fido’s canine Boot camp, consisting of Nohea being away from her family, intense socialization, exposure to structure, leash training, two personal training sessions, and much more. Nohea returned to us a completely different dog (in a very good way). Within the first two days of Nohea returning home, she is able to walk on a leash without pulling, does not bark or lunge at other dogs and her anxious whines are reduced to one or none at all. Waylon’s service doesn’t only involve our pet, but includes myself, the owner. He has taught me how to address my dog’s behavior by providing her structure and consistency as well as creating opportunities for Nohea to release her anxiety through exercise. This entire process has been a life changing experience for my entire family and most importantly for Nohea, who can now enjoy outdoor adventures with her family.
